The Westbury team is very committed to their work - every single one of them.
The Managing Director
Jonathan Hey, the founder of Westbury Conservatories, is a hands-on Master Builder. Over the years, he’s developed unique insights into the way conservatories can create light, space and that special ‘feelgood factor’. He personally oversees every Westbury project, making regular site visits.
The Architect
Our in-house architect works closely with our designer to create a conservatory that complements both your house and your way of life. Blending his creative and technical skills, he oversees the drawings, the selection of materials and the overall appearance of your conservatory.
The Designer
Our designer will visit your home to examine the site and your individual needs. Before putting pen to paper she’ll investigate the way you plan to use your new-found space. Apart from adding space, she’ll consider how your new conservatory can also add charm and value to your home.
The Surveyor
Our surveyor’s role is to make sure your conservatory meets the local planning regulations, to supervise the building process and to generally oversee operations so that your requirements are met. He has a thorough grounding in building construction and planning law.
The Site Project Manager
Our project manager is the main link between customer and construction team. She’ll make sure the right materials and components are delivered at the right time and keep you up-to-date with progress. Throughout the project, she’ll act as your single point of contact.
The CAD Technicians
CAD stands for Computer Aided Design. Our expert CAD technicians use computer technology to create accurate drawings of your conservatory. These large-scale drawings are used in our workshops and on site to transform your conservatory from a concept to reality.
The Illustrator
Taking a brief from the designer who visited your home, our illustrator will create a watercolour illustration to show you exactly what we’re planning to build. When the work’s finished, people often say, “ It looks just like the drawing you gave us at the beginning.”
The Joiners
Each of our joiners has years of experience in their specialist craft. From making a perfect mortise and tennon joint to correctly applying the factory paint finish, they take pride in their work. As professionals, they make sure that every corner is square and every door and window fits well.
The Bricklayers
Our experienced bricklayers are in a different class from the average ‘brickie’. Polite and professional, they work to our extremely detailed 1: 20 drawings, using bricks selected to match your house. They carefully ‘point’ the walls, using the correct colour mortar.
The Fitting Teams
Our fitting teams are experienced carpenters, rather than general builders. Constantly liaising with the Project Manager, they painstakingly construct the hardwood frame then fit the double-glazed windows and doors. Like everyone else in the Westbury Team, they care about the details.
The Decorators
Naturally, our decorators are used to our joinery and materials and they’re experienced at giving them the finishing touches (we apply two base coats in our workshop). They use the latest ozone-friendly paints and they’ll return in a year or two to repaint your conservatory if required.
The Managing Director
Why have we given our MD, Jonathan Hey, a second mention? Simply to make the point that he’s directly involved from beginning to end. Jonathan inspects every finished Westbury conservatory, giving his approval for our warranty certificate to be issued.
