You may have gathered that we’re rather obsessed with conservatories. We could bore you with intricate details of conservatory construction and modern methods of rain-proofing and draught-proofing. We won’t. We’ll spare you the boring details. Instead, we’ll give you a brief overview of our building standards.
Modern Insulation and draught-elimination methods are built into our plans, hidden beneath the floor, in new walls and within roof cavities. Our low maintenance, powder-coated roof cappings and high-performance double-glazing keep the weather out and the heat in. In exposed locations we’ll install ultra-insulating glass that cuts heat-loss in winter and over-heating in summer.
Our doors and windows may look traditional but they incorporate unique storm-proofing features without using ugly drainage beads. The locks will feature concealed ‘espagnolette’ locking systems, meeting the latest European security standards.
We normally specify two sheets of toughened safety glass, formed into a sealed unit, for conservatory roofs. The top sheet of glass is extended at the bottom edge to form a drip. Our roofs will withstand extremes of climate, from snow, gales and rain to glaring sun. They’ll also withstand a person’s weight.
Over the years we’ve perfected unique methods of design and construction that make sure our roofs are watertight and draught-free. They let light flood in and require minimal maintenance. We can even fit self-cleaning glass if required.
